Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Area Account Manager – Bugaboo Group is accountable for building, managing, and growing strong retail partner relationships across Bugaboo and Joolz independent accounts within a defined geographic territory, specifically in the Northeast. This role focuses on in-market execution, retail partner relationships, sell-through performance, and field-level excellence, ensuring Bugaboo’s brand, products, and commercial plans are executed consistently and effectively across all accounts in the region. An Area Account Manager is responsible for driving sales performance within assigned accounts by analyzing store-level results, developing growth strategies, and implementing performance improvement plans. This role is highly hands-on and field-oriented, acting as the day-to-day face of Bugaboo Group within the territory.
The Area Account Manager leads all aspects of account strategy, development, and execution—including commercial planning, relationship management, and tactical programs—to expand existing business, identify new opportunities, and elevate brand presence both online and in-store. This position partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure best-in-class execution aligned with Bugaboo Group’s global strategy and premium brand standards.
Bugaboo Group North America is a fully remote, highly collaborative team with members across North America. There will be some travel once per quarter for strategic planning sessions as well as a yearly in-person team event. As many of these retail accounts are based in the Northeast, the ideal candidate is based in the Greater New York area (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut).
What will you do
Account Strategy & Sales Growth
Deliver territory sales targets aligned with regional and annual objectives.
Develop and execute comprehensive retail account plans that drive sales growth, strengthen competitive positioning, and expand the Bugaboo and Joolz brands.
Own execution of account sales and business plans, including targets and budgets, in alignment with global commercial strategy.
Achieve annual sales targets and financial objectives while closely monitoring revenue performance against budget.
Identify and lead multi-year growth opportunities across assortment, distribution, merchandising, and marketing within assigned accounts.
Relationship Management & Customer Partnership
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with retail partners, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
Lead joint business planning efforts with key customers, leveraging tools such as assortment planning, promotional calendars, and performance reviews.
Deliver exceptional day-to-day account management, supported by accurate customer data, forecasting, and reporting.
Ensure brand standards are upheld in-store, including merchandising, displays, pricing, and product presentation.
Support store openings, floor resets, and visual merchandising initiatives.
Conduct store visits to assess execution, training needs, and competitive activity.
Act as the eyes and ears of the business in the field, sharing insights and feedback with leadership.
Operational Excellence & Forecasting
Own timely and accurate sales, demand, and cost forecasting in line with Bugaboo Group’s global S&OP process.
Monitor customer satisfaction and service delivery, proactively identifying and resolving potential operational, service, or financial risks.
Provide regular, insightful reporting on sales performance, trends, and risks versus Bugaboo and Joolz objectives.
Brand Execution & In-Store Experience
Drive best-in-class physical and digital brand presence in line with Bugaboo Group's brand and merchandising strategy.
Oversee in-store execution, including product placement, point-of-sale materials, and brand storytelling.
Build advocacy among retail store teams by delivering compelling product training and reinforcing the Bugaboo and Joolz brand narratives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Optimization
Operate as a collaborative, team-first partner with a positive and professional mindset.
Contribute to a culture of accountability, respect, and solution-oriented problem solving.
Communicate clearly and constructively across functions
Partner with internal teams—including Marketing, Sales Operations, Customer Operations, and Finance—to analyze account and store performance.
Develop and implement performance improvement plans where needed to drive results and operational efficiency.
Maintain deep and current product knowledge and serve as a brand ambassador for Bugaboo and Joolz.
What you will bring to the table
5+ years of field sales or account management experience within premium consumer goods, juvenile, lifestyle, or specialty retail.
Proven success managing independent retail accounts and driving in-store sell-through performance.
Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding territory sales and revenue targets.
Strong ability to develop and execute strategic account plans that translate into measurable growth.
Highly analytical, with experience using store-level data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps.
Hands-on, field-oriented sales professional who thrives in a relationship-driven environment.
Excellent relationship-building skills with retail owners, managers, and in-store teams.
Confident communicator and presenter, with experience delivering product training and brand storytelling.
Experience partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Operations, Customer Operations, and Finance.
Strong forecasting, planning, and organizational skills; able to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
Passion for premium brands and delivering best-in-class in-store execution and customer experience.
Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable working independently in a territory-based role.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Compensation
Pursuant to applicable state regulation regarding pay transparency, Bugaboo discloses the following compensation details for this position: the annual base salary range for this position is $58,450 - $83,500; contingent on the applicant’s relevant experience, education, job-related knowledge, skills and other qualifications, and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
