Your aim
Your aim as a Pattern Engineer is to develop and optimize product patterns to meet design and product requirements, ensuring high quality, cost efficiency, and production effectiveness, contributing to Bugaboo’s excellence in product innovation and manufacturing.
You are part of the Fabric Engineering (FE) team and report to the Fabric Engineering Manager.
What will you do?
Develop and modify paper patterns based on design, engineering, and production requirements to achieve optimal quality, cost, and efficiency
Provide pattern feasibility feedback to design and engineering teams during product development
Collaborate with Fabric Engineering to validate sample quality and ensure BOM and technical drawings accuracy
Maintain and release approved patterns in IFS system and shared folders with clear documentation
Work together with stitching MPP to calculate and optimize labor hours
Coach sample room and production cutting teams on pattern layout and cutting methods to optimize fabric utilization
Guide sample makers and production lines on stitching techniques from a pattern engineering perspective
Coordinate with internal teams (sample room, production line, FE) and external partners (outsourced sample room and production) to ensure smooth execution
What you will bring to the table
3–5 years of experience in pattern engineering, fabric product development, or related areas
Strong expertise in fabric pattern making and optimization
Good proficiency in Lectra (or similar CAD pattern software)
Solid understanding of fabric product development and production techniques
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement
Good collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Creative mindset to improve product and process outcomes
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
You relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people and gain trust through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. You are proactive, results-driven, and capable of working independently while contributing to team success.
